I live & love to paint...
I paint, I make mixed media pieces and create artist books and I'm also a qualified teacher. My work is a direct response to my surroundings - those special places to escape, feel safe and be quiet.
Gardens (I love flowers and plants and grow food, all with a love for nature and the environment)
The sea (I swim all year round, it’s delicious)
Nature in general (I particularly love birds but also paint other animals like cats, dogs, cows, sheep.)
This year each month's work will be based on a different colour. Follow my Instagram for details.
Art has always been in my life...
I was born and raised in South London, I now live on Kent's Romney Marsh.
I’ve made art since I was little going onto Wimbledon School of Art where I did a BA(Hons) degree in painting under the tutelage of Prunella Clough, Bernard Cohen and Martin Bedford. I really learnt my craft there. We made our own stretchers for our canvases, made different paint and grounds and had wonderful art history lectures.
I completed a PGCE at Goldsmiths College, London and subsequently taught art part time in order to be able to make my own work.
My work has been exhibited in many places including:
Three Kent Wildlife Trust visitor centres
Linden Hall Gallery, Deal.
Haddenham Art Gallery, Cambridge.
Avocet Gallery, Sussex.
Bower Barn Gallery, Molash, Canterbury.
Red Door Gallery, Rye.
West End Gallery, Smarden.
